New Castle, DE- Delaware State Police have arrested two 17 year olds after they robbed a pair of juveniles of their bikes last night in New Castle.

The incident began at approximately 8:50 p.m. last night, Tuesday, July 19, 2016, as two 14 year old male subjects responded to the Dollar Tree, located at 1230 S. DuPont Highway, New Castle. The two teens then left the bikes that they had been riding on the sidewalk in front of the store and entered the business. Watson, III, 17, of Wilmington, stopped the bike that he was riding, pulled a handgun from his waistband, and pointed it at the victim. The victim then turned and fled on foot. The victims then contacted 9-1-1 and provided a description of the suspects and their bikes to the call taker. The victims were not injured.

A short time later a responding trooper observed the two suspects riding the stolen bikes in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart located at 117 Wilton Boulevard, New Castle. Mayhew D. Watson (white tank top), and Jowan Whitley, 17, of Wilmington (grey t-shirt), were both taken into custody without incident. The stolen bikes were returned to the victims.
