Greenwood – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a serious crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early this morning south of Greenwood.
The incident occurred around 2:46 a.m. Wednesday January 11, 2017 as Aaron J. Marchincin, 32 of Seaford was operating a 2011 Ford E250 Econoline van, northbound on Sussex Hwy (US13), just north of Adams Road approaching the limits of Greenwood. The van was able to come to a controlled stop just north of impact.
Antonio Lambert, who was wearing dark colored clothing and not crossing in a cross walk or carrying a flashlight, was removed from the scene and initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where he is admitted in critical condition.
Aaron Marchincin was properly restrained and uninjured in the crash.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Alcohol may be a factor on behalf of Lambert. US13 northbound in the area of collision was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
