Suspicious Person Complaint Leads to Gun and Drug Arrest

Wilmington (19808)- Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man and charged him with weapons and drug offenses after he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and drugs on Saturday.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 9:35 p.m., after troopers were requested to respond to the parking lot of the Applebee’s Restaurant, located at 4301 Kirkwood Highway, for the report of a suspicious male subject who was possibly in possession of a handgun while riding a bike through the lot. As responding troopers arrived they observed a subject matching the description of the suspicious person standing near the Applebee’s restaurant. The troopers then approached the subject who immediately fled on foot into the restaurant. Troopers pursued the suspect, later identified as Adam B. Radcliffe, 30, and were subsequently able to take him into custody without incident. It was at this time that a loaded .25 caliber Beretta handgun, .21 grams of heroin, and 7.5 doses of Alprazolam were found in Radcliffe’s sweatshirt pocket.

Adam Radcliffe was transported to Troop 6 where he was arrested and charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned at JP Court 11 and released on $4300.00 unsecured bail.
