Bridgeville, De – Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate a shooting incident which resulted in the death of a 19 year old Bridgeville man that occurred yesterday morning.
The investigation began at approximately 2:33 a.m., on Thursday August 24, 2017, after Troopers were called to respond to Apple Tree Road south of Oak Road, Bridgeville, for the report of a male with a gunshot wound. Upon their arrival Troopers made contact with a 35 year old Georgetown man who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body, lying outside of a white vehicle which was parked on Apple Tree Road. Troopers also discovered a deceased male subject, later identified as Tyron Lake, 19, of Bridgeville, seated in a second car which was also parked on Apple Tree Road, north of the white vehicle.
The 35 year old subject was treated at the scene by Sussex County Paramedics. He was then transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and later flown to the Christiana Hospital where he was admitted for his serious injuries.
Tyron Lake’s body was removed from the scene by the Division of Forensic Sciences where an autopsy has determined the death to be a Homicide by a gunshot wound to the lower torso.
